On Tuesday, March 3, Hofstra Law welcomed Eric Alexander, Director of Vision Long Island, a regional Smart Growth planning organization. Mr. Alexander spoke with law students about his work to promote more livable, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible growth on Long Island and addressed the development of mixed-use downtowns that are convenient, pedestrian-friendly, affordable, and accessible to public transportation.

He discussed how government, communities, and developers can work together and the roles attorneys can play in the planning process. The event was sponsored by the Real Estate Law Students Association and the Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies.
