Third-year Hofstra Law student Emanuele Putrino won Best Student Article Award at the 2024 Antitrust Writing Awards ceremony held on April 9, in Washington, D.C. The annual event promotes competition scholarship and contributes to competition advocacy in the legal and economic fields. Emanuele’s paper “Tesla, Let Me Fix My Car: The Right to Repair and Need for a Balance Between Public and Private Enforcement,” published in the Oklahoma Law Review, Volume 76, won first place among 50 other article submissions written by current and recent Law & Economics students globally.

“I am very honored to have won the Best Antitrust Student Article distinction at the 2024 Concurrences Antitrust Awards,” said Emanuele. “My hope is that this article raises awareness of the issue and influences policymakers to change how we approach the right to repair. It was a pleasure attending the ceremony in Washington, D.C., where I connected with scholars, practitioners, and lead antitrust enforcers of the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice. It meant even more to me that my mom and my brother Vinie, who taught me much about cars and exposed me to this issue, came to support me.”
