Hofstra Law is pleased to welcome Danielle Groner as our new Assistant Dean for Communications, effective November 4, 2024.
In her 15-year career in public relations and communications, Groner has worked with a variety of businesses and institutions to develop their communications plans, events, branding initiatives, websites, marketing and social media campaigns, and publications.
She has received numerous awards for her work, including the SUNY Old Westbury Presidential Award for Leadership in August 2023, and the Long Island Digital Award in May 2019. She was named to the Long Island Business News’ top “30 Under 30” business leaders list in September 2017.
Groner will be responsible for developing and implementing multi-channel strategic campaigns to improve brand awareness, increase applications, and foster a culture of giving, as well as to support the communications needs of all departments, centers, institutes, clinics and faculty scholarship at Hofstra Law. She will work closely with all Law School departments, including enrollment management and external relations, the Dean and senior administrators on effective communication strategies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Danielle to the Hofstra Law community as the new Assistant Dean for Communications,” said Dean Jenny Roberts. “Her energy, creativity, and deep experience in the field will be invaluable assets as we continue to strengthen our engagement with prospective students, alumni, and beyond. I am confident that her vision and expertise will help elevate the Law School to new heights, and I look forward to seeing the exciting direction she will take our communications strategy.
I would like to thank the faculty and administrators who took part in the search process, in particular our wonderful communications team—Tobie-Lynn Accardi, Mike Wagner, and Brooke Walker, as well as Rosemary Burcheri, who gave invaluable (and cheerful) support throughout the process.”
Groner comes to Hofstra Law from SUNY Old Westbury, where she served as Director of Communications and Signature Events since 2013, and as the chair of the university’s Staff Forum, an advisory group that addressed issues relevant to all employees of the university.
She earned a Master of Arts in higher education administration from Stony Brook University and has a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication from Iona University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
