Hofstra Law Advocates Advance to National Competition Finals

A team of Hofstra Law students have advanced to the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC) National Finals after winning the virtual regional tournament in early March. The annual AAJ STAC law student mock trial tournament showcases top future trial lawyers, and is one of the premier competitions in the country.

The winning team included third-year students Brian O’Regan, Ryan Stoehrer, Alissa Popeck, and second-year Ruben Cerri-Droz. They will attend the finals in Atlanta, Georgia on April 3-6, 2025. Hofstra Law alumni David Santana ’17, John Margolies ’23, and Julia lacono ’22 coached the students for the competition.

The second team of Sydney Albert 3L and Sarah Bogen 3L were regional semifinalists. They were coached by Special Professor of Law Courtney Charles, Gabby Malfi ’29 and Austin Sperl ’24.
