Eric M. Freedman, the Siggi B. Wilzig Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Rights, served as a panel discussion moderator and a presenter at the 2015 Lara D. Gass Symposium, “From Conviction to Clemency: Commonwealth v. Giarratano, a Case Study in the Modern Death Penalty.”
Professor Freedman has been involved over many years as a lawyer in Giarratano and related cases and has written several articles in the area.
He moderated the panel “Rights and Remedies When Counsel Is Ineffective” and presented as a panelist for “The Writ of Habeas Corpus as Post-Conviction Relief.”
The symposium was hosted on Feb. 5-6, 2016, by Washington and Lee Law Review.
