The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University on May 2, 2016, announced the creation of the Moritt Hock & Hamroff Business Law Honors Fellowship. The announcement was made by Hofstra Law Dean Eric Lane. The fellowship will be awarded to an incoming law student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and an interest in pursuing a career in business law.

Managing partner Marc Hamroff, a 1983 graduate of Hofstra Law and currently a special professor of law, said, “I have always valued the education I received at Hofstra Law and continue to apply the high standards and principles I learned to my daily practice. Our firm has achieved a growing and respected presence on Long Island. For us to have the opportunity to give back by furthering the education of deserving students is exceptionally meaningful and a great honor.”

In making the announcement, Dean Lane said, “I thank Marc and his firm for supporting this fellowship and their dedication to preparing future lawyers. I am always so proud to see alumni who are not only succeeding in their careers, but are also giving back to the Law School and supporting our current students.”

Hamroff will be the commencement speaker at Hofstra Law’s graduation on Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on campus.

Hamroff teaches Secured Transactions at Hofstra Law and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board and the Business Law Advisory Committee, which advises on any necessary changes to the Law School’s business law curriculum.

Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, with offices on Long Island and in Manhattan, provides a wide range of legal services to businesses, corporations and individuals worldwide.
