Professor Elizabeth M. Nevins, attorney-in-charge of the Criminal Justice Clinic, presented at the 39th AALS Conference on Clinical Legal Education, which was held April 30-May 3, 2016, in Baltimore, Maryland.

On one panel, along with clinical faculty from University of Pennsylvania, University of Illinois College of Law, and Cardozo School of Law, Professor Nevins presented on “Conflict and Community: A Pedagogical Approach.” The session addressed lawyering and policy conflicts in maintaining a client-centered approach while acknowledging and addressing other competing interests in the community.

In a second session, “Towards Holistic Representation: Creating Successful Law and Social Work Collaborations,” Professor Nevins presented with faculty from Fordham University School of Law and Boston University. Together, they addressed the topic of multidisciplinary partnerships, which pair graduate social work students with law school clinic students to work on clinic cases.
