Professor Theo Liebmann presented at two programs focused on training attorneys who represent immigrant children and families.
The first, on Nov. 22, 2016, at the Practising Law Institute in New York City, was a free program that attracted more than 800 in-person and online attorneys, many of whom signed up for the program as a way to respond to anticipated anti-immigrant policies in the new presidential administration.
The second program, on Dec. 16 at Fordham University, was a full-day program on meeting the legal representation and social welfare needs of Central American refugees. Other speakers included Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.
