Hofstra Law alumnus Jason Kurland ’00, a partner at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP in the firm’s Real Estate group, played goalie for the U.S. Masters men’s ice hockey team at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem earlier this month.
The U.S. Masters team — made up of players 40 and older — won the bronze medal in the Masters tournament, which featured a number of former professionals, including some with NHL experience. Kurland, who had played goalie as an undergraduate at Skidmore College, also earned MVP honors for his performance in the game against Ukraine.
“Israel is an amazing country, and the entire two weeks was an experience of a lifetime,” Kurland said in a press release from Certilman Balin.
