On Sept. 21, Professor Alafair Burke presented her article “Why Fiction?” at the New England Law Review symposium “The Novelization of the Criminal Justice System & Its Effect on Pop Culture,” dedicated to a discussion of her Edgar-nominated legal thriller, The Ex.
In the article, Professor Burke addresses the intersection between her work as a novelist and as a legal academic.
Other participants on her panel were Professor Peter Manus of New England Law | Boston and Hon. Michael A. Ponsor, senior judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, both of whom are also novelists.
