Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on March 9 the appointment of two interim judges, Hofstra Law alumnus Hon. Jeffrey Gershuny ’01 and Hon. Adam Perlmutter, to the New York City Civil Court. Although they are appointed to Civil Court, the judges will be serving in Criminal Court.
“These judges bring a unique perspective to the court and I am confident they will work tirelessly to serve the people of New York,” de Blasio said in the press release.
Judge Gershuny served as a supervising court attorney in Criminal Court, New York County, for seven years, before becoming the chief counsel to the administrative judge of New York City Criminal Court. He is also a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve serving in the JAG Corps.
