Alumnus George Davis ’90 Joins Latham as Global Co-Chair of Restructuring and Insolvency Practice in New York

Global law firm Latham & Watkins LLP recently announced that Hofstra Law alumnus George Davis ’90 joined the firm’s New York office as global co-chair of the restructuring, insolvency & workouts practice.

Formerly co-chair of O’Melveny & Myers’ New York global restructuring practice, Davis has an extensive track record advising public and private companies around the world on some of the most complex restructurings. He also has significant experience representing creditor groups and investors in many of the highest-profile restructurings of the past two decades.

“George is a highly regarded restructuring and insolvency attorney who has earned his place as a leader in the bankruptcy space,” said Michele Penzer, office managing partner of Latham & Watkins in New York, in the announcement. “Clients will be well-served by his solutions-oriented approach to facilitating resolutions to their most challenging circumstances.”

Davis has handled matters across multiple industries, including chemicals, automotive, steel, financial services, energy, power generation, and telecommunications. He has consistently been recognized over the past 15 years by such publications and organizations as Chambers Global, Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and Turnarounds & Workouts, among others.
