In January 2021, Ahern was named the 2020 National Traffic Safety Prosecutor of the Year by the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators. In January 2020, Ahern was recognized by the District Attorney Association of the State of New York with the prestigious Robert M. Morgenthau Award, given annually to one regional prosecutor that personifies a commitment to integrity and the tireless pursuit of justice.

Hon. Lenard Leeds ’74: Len was an extraordinary lawyer who built Leeds Brown Law, P.C. into one of the most successful firms in the New York area with a focus on civil rights and employment discrimination. He was a generous and committed friend to Hofstra Law and, in his role as an as Associate Village Justice for the Town of Old Westbury, he served as an exemplary leader of our Alumni Judges of Distinction Executive Committee. Len was recently named as one of our Distinguished Alumni on the Bench Hall of Fame honorees and will be recognized posthumously at our 50th Anniversary Celebration on April 5.
