On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Hofstra Law held an orientation for its Inaugural Diversity Mentorship Program. The program includes 70 alumni mentors and law student mentees.
The Diversity Mentorship Program was created to serve Hofstra Law 2L and 3L students from underrepresented communities in the legal profession. It gives students the opportunity to connect with an alumni mentor to help refine their networking skills and increase their professional development, all while fostering productive and long-lasting relationships with Hofstra Law alumni.
The program will allow Hofstra Law alumni to offer students:
- career advice;
- practice area information;
- introductions to professional organizations and other practitioners,
- invitations to professional events;
- opportunities to host fireside chats and open house events for selected students;
- introductions to exciting pro bono or bar association projects; and
- interview preparation suggestions and instruction on appropriate professional behavior.
